Savile Row were commissioned to recreate the grandeur of this once renown hotel in Vilanculos Mozambique that had fallen into disrepair. Our design inspiration for this project was drawn from the Hotel's original Art Deco Architecture, a blend of Mozambican and Portuguese culture interwoven with the wonderful local history of "Senhor Alves" and his lover "Dona Ana". Working within the constraints of what was an old Art Deco building, we remodelled the interior spaces and extended the hotel with a new larger bar, covered terrace, presidential suite, plus feature pool with pool bar.
Extensive back of house facilities and services, had to be constructed in order to provide the services and modern amenities travellers expect of a first class hotel. A new harbour access road was constructed, which allowed us to transform what was an old service road in front of the hotel into a private beach and promenade.
