This project is set on a privately owned 60 000 hectare game farm in the remote Kalahari area of South Africa. The task was to alter a 120 year old stone and tin roofed farmhouse into a central guest entertainment and dining facility. The client was particular in that the design precedent must be taken from the original buildings and be applied to the new structure.
Guest accommodation was created by constructing two separate buildings flanking the original farmhouse. A separate library / games room was provided plus the necessary supporting technical facilities required for a remote location. The farm’s relaxed, comfortable interior subtly complement the solid and honest structure. - Part of the personal portfolio of Adrian Davidson
